Dorris Marie Patterson

Dorris Marie Page Patterson, 88, died on May 14, 2017, with loved ones at her bedside. She was previously a resident of Sterling House and Dogwood Trails in Palestine, TX. Recently she became a resident of Shady Acres Health and Rehabilitation Center, Newton, TX.
Dorris was preceded in death by her parents, Clint and Ethel Calfee, and one brother, William E. Calfee. She was married to Dean Ross Page (deceased), from Conroe, TX for 31 years and A. G. Patterson (deceased), from Palestine, TX for 23 years. A daughter, Beverly Dianne Page, is also deceased.
Surviving family members include daughters, Elaine Kelley of Toledo Village, TX, and Melba Page of Palestine, TX; granddaughter, Lilly Sullivan Page of Huntsville, TX; and step-son, Gaylon Patterson and wife, Janet of Gun Barrel City, TX.
Always an advocate of healthy foods for children in hopes of preventing diabetes and heart disease, Dorris worked as a dietician in Conroe Independent School District for 17 years. She loved touring the country with her family in their travel trailer. After moving to Palestine and retiring, Dorris and her husband, A. G. Patterson, continued traveling, especially enjoying national parks in the mid-west and southwest. Later, Toledo Village at Toledo Bend became Dorris's favorite destination.
