Kevin Wayne "POPS" Jones

Kevin Wayne Jones, age 59, of Jasper, TX, passed away on December 9, 2018. He was born on August 11, 1959 to Billie Jo Spears in Vidor, TX.

“Give me a reason”, Kevin would say, in response to most conversations. His fun-loving personality was as infectious as it was resilient. He was a simple man, who didn’t feel the need to fit in with worldly standards. Much of his time was spent going to the lake or at cookouts, but his most treasured time spent was with his family. He was known for his keen ability to fix things and work with his hands; he rebuilt trucks, was a proficient woodworker, and was a heavy equipment mechanic for many years. He and his son, Johnathan, created timeless memories on their drives; they would listen to classic rock and talk about life. Kevin loved life and will be greatly missed by friends and family.

Kevin is survived by his sons, Jonathan Jones and David Chaney; a daughter, LaDonna Gutierrez; a step-son, Jason Rowe; a step-daughter, Jennifer Rowe; 15 grandchildren, James Oaks, Lauren Turner, Kia Langhorn, Austin Jones, Raylee Jones, Kevin Gutierrez, Kayla Gutierrez, Kaleigh Gutierrez, Kristin Chaney, Ashlynn Chaney, Gage Chaney, Logan Chaney, Alexa Chaney, Chloe Coker and Zoey Coker; 12 great grandchildren; as well as other family members and friends.
