Jerry Allen Julian, age 85 of Zavalla, TX passed away on November 06, 2019. He was born on April 26, 1934 in Dallas, TX to Fred Julian and Gladys Muntz Julian.
Growing up as one of 9 children, Jerry always has a strong sense of family. Strong willed and a perfectionist, Jerry was driven to do everything, “the right way”. Beginning his own machine shop, Jerry could always be best identified as a machinist at heart. When he took an interest in anything, he would always jump in with both feet and two hands. Passionate about both his personal faith in God and his dedication in helping his church family, Jerry was always available to help when needed. He used his considerable skill set and was instrumental in helping build the fellowship hall at his long-term church home, Johnson Missionary Baptist Church. Jerry was a man of many hobbies, not the least of which was his varied love of all music- from The Bee Gees and gospel music, all the way up to today’s up and coming Texas country band “William Clark Green”- a favorite band who Jerry would always say had some really good talent. All the hobbies and interests in the world could never compare to the love and devotion Jerry had to his wife Glenda. Jerry often remarked that “An old bear lives here with his honey” and those that knew the loving couple of almost 60 years best know that Glenda will always continue to be “Carrying Your Love With Me”. Jerry and Glenda met when he was just 25 and she 19; a mutual friend introduced them and often the young couple went on double dates. After a brief courtship of only 5 months the couple married November 24, 1959. Blessed with 5 children, Jerry and Glenda made their love and their family a clear priority. Jerry was a loving father and the best “Papa” to his ever-expanding family of grand-children, great grand-children, and even great-great grand-children. He was a compassionate and soft-hearted man that truly impacted the lives of all those around him for the better. He will be deeply missed.
Jerry is preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Gladys Julian; brothers, Tom Julian, Les Julian, Donald Raye Julian; and sister Frances Hauser.
