James Keith Sheffield

Mr. James Keith Sheffield, 69, of Beaumont, passed away on Friday, October 22, 2021. Keith as he was best known, was born in Silsbee on August 9, 1952, to William H. Sheffield and Nelda Faye (Murphy) Sheffield.

Keith was a hard worker and an electrician by trade, but that didn’t stop him from doing a million different odd and end jobs during his lifetime. He was always doing something, even when Keith became ill, he kept up with his vegetable garden and even did home repairs to his house- often the same day as he would receive a treatment. Keith was a kind and giving man, just ask the swarms of ladies who would rush to grab up the bountiful harvests from Keith’s gardens when he would go to the local dollar stores or taken them into his doctor’s office visits. Always teasing those he cared for, Keith loved to see other’s laugh. With a heart the size of Texas and the bravery that sound like that of legend, Keith stood strong and loving until his very last day; he will be deeply missed by all those who knew him, and his legacy will not soon be forgotten.

The family would like to give a special thanks to his Aunt Jean who took Keith into her home and cared for him while on hospice, alone with his cousins who were always there: Dan Stephens, Sherry and Alan McKee, and Tim Stephens.

Left to cherish his memory is his mother, Nelda Faye Sheffield; his brother, Johnny H. Sheffield; and his nephew, R.J. Sheffield; and numerous extended family members and close friends through the years.

Keith was preceded in death by his “Papaw” Velbert Crocker and “Mammaw” Birgie Lee Crocker, and his beloved aunt, Martha “Aunt Susie” Sue Golden.

Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Timothy Stephens, Dan Stephens, Alan McKee, and Zack Harvey.

Keith's life honoring Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, November 13, 2021, beginning at 10:00 A.M. at Lumberton Family Funeral Home, 766 S Main St. Lumberton, TX 77657.
