Howard Dowden Obituary

Mr. Howard Earl Dowden, 82, passed from this life to his Heavenly Father on Thursday, August 20, 2020, after fighting a battle with lung cancer.

Howard was a member of the Texas National Guard and Army Reserve. He was also a licensed electrician and a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 479 of Beaumont, TX for 63 years.

Howard enjoyed hunting, fishing, and working in his shop, building cabinets for his home.

Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 49 and half years, Carolyn Ruth MCniel Dowden; his sons, Larry Dowden and wife Laverne, Randy Dowden and wife Mitzi, Toby Dowden and wife Leticia, Oliver Dowden and companion Chris, William Dowden and wife Terri; his daughter Tara Dowden Bowden and husband Jerry; his 13 grandchildren; his 11 great-grandchildren; as well as his numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

Howard was preceded in death by his parents, RT Dowden and Bertie Tanton Dowden-Overstreet; and his stepfather, L.C. Overstreet.

Cremation services have been entrusted to Forest Oaks Funeral Home.
