Eugenia "Gene" Victoria Kellar Graham, 96, of Kirbyville passed away peacefully on Friday, September 4, 2020. Gene was born March 28, 1924 in Hancock Mississippi to Helen Whitfield Kellar and John Kellar, she was one of eleven children. Growing up as a child of the Great Depression, Gene was from a large family of seven girls and four boys. As a young woman, Gene had a love of music and dancing that never truly left her. Music was a constant undercurrent in her life and Gene enjoyed everything from gospel songs to country music; Bob Seager’s “Like A Rock” was easily the anthem of her life. A woman of many talents, Gene had many facets to her life that she was proud of- but few of those memorable moments meant as much to Gene as becoming a wife, mother and homemaker, and of course the day she completed her nurse’s aide schooling and got to put on her white nurses uniform. When not raising her large family of twelve children over the years, Gene spent time nourishing her beloved roses and gardening; later in life when she could no longer garden Gene found a new joy in quilting. Truly the definition of a determined and strong woman, Gene raised nine strong sons and two beautiful daughters- which was not an easy job- but she did it and did it with an admirable grace that defined her life. Kind and compassionate, Gene would willingly help anyone in need and was fiercely protective of those she loved. Whether it was pursuing her hobbies, raising her large and well-loved family, or being a true friend to as many people as she could, Gene’s impact on those around her will not soon be forgotten and she will be deeply missed.
Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Jeanette Tillman of Beaumont; Sons, James “Pee-wee” Graham and wife Karen of Kirbyville; John Max Graham and Wife Catherine of Buna; daughter, Ruby Lee Biano and Husband Marvin Jr. of Fannette; Sons, Danny Kay Graham of Kirbyville; Charles Ray Graham and Wife Cathy of Call; Lee Roy Graham of Iowa Park; Michael Wayne Graham and Wife Theresa of Bon Weir; Gary Gene Graham of Kirbyville; 29 Grandchildren; 50 Great Grandchildren; And 12 Great Great Grandchildren.
