Chris Batson

John Christopher “Chris” Batson, 51, of Silsbee, passed away peaceably in his sleep on Wednesday, November 4, 2020 at his home.

Chris was born in Pasadena, Texas to Dan and Phyllis Batson on August 5, 1969. He went to high school at South Houston High School and later received his GED. He worked as a cook and later as a truck driver and an Air Conditioning Trainee. He enjoyed music, football, working on cars and anything mechanical.

Chris is survived by his father Dan Batson; his second mom Eula Batson; his sister Amy (Steve) Stephens; his nieces, Ashley Stephens, Amber (Brach) Gilbert, Addie Stephens, and Alyse Stephens; his nephew Gavin “Bubba” Stephens; and various other family members. Chris is preceded in death by his mother, Phyllis Batson.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to ALSAC/St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.

The family wants to extend their gratitude to the Hardin County Sheriff’s Department, the Silsbee Police Department and the Silsbee Fire Department for all of their help and compassion.

Cremation services have been entrusted to Forest Oaks Funeral Home in Jasper, Texas. A Celebration of Life will be held for Chris by his family and friends at a later date.
