Anna Bell Evans Mize

1933 - 2019

Anna Bell Mize, age 85, passed away on March 10, 2019. She was born in Port Neches, TX on May 21, 1933 to Sheldon Clark Evans and Georgia Castle Evans.

Bell was born and raised in Port Neches, Tx and graduated from Port Neches-Groves High School in 1950.  Less than 60 days later (June 30, 1950) at the age of 17, she married Dickie Mize of Nederland, TX.  She was a devoted wife to him for 35 years until the time of his death on February 21, 1986.  She was rarely away from his side when He was deer hunting in the fall, feeding cows in the winter, working the cows and raising a garden.  She was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church in Jasper, TX.  She will be laid to rest beside her husband at the Ford Cemetery in Newton, TX.

Left to honor her memory is her daughter, Anna Carol Mize Inman and husband, Wilton Ben Jr., of Jasper, TX; son, Dennis Carlton Mize and wife, Janet Hedrick, of Elizabethtown, NC; brother, James Frank Evans and his wife, Marcelene, of Colorado Springs, CO; grandsons; William Douglas Mize, Tommy Wayne Mize and James Sheldon Mize; granddaughters, Tracey Ann Inman Dupre and husband, Richard Shane, and Jamie Lee Bach and husband, Ivan Isko; great-grandchildren, Katelyn Mize, Dalton Wayne Mize, Kyleigh Mize, Keith Mize, Lane Mize, Alyssa Bach, Katie Lee Bach, Brody Isko Bach, and Waylon Shane Dupre.

Bell is preceded in death by her husband, William “Dickie” Carlton Mize; parents; brothers, Sheldon Clark Evans, Jr., Warren Weber Evans and Wesley Jerome Evans; sisters, Lois Hanky, Lucy Gwendolyn Evans Fojtek and Delores Hazel Henry.

Visitation with family and friends will be 12:30 to 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 13, 2019, at Forest Oaks Funeral Home, 601 W. Gibson St., Jasper, TX 75951. Bell’s life honoring service will be at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 13, 2019, also at the funeral home, with Wes Evans Jr. officiating.
