Virgi Lee (Doyle) Sander
1937 - 2019
Virgi Sander passed away from this life on March 31, 2019. She was born to Eugene Doyle and Madalene (Scott) Overstreet on October 27, 1937 in Phoenix, AZ.
A strong and independent woman; who was caring, loving, and wise; Virgi lived life fast and hard. Virgi met and fell in love with her neighbor George Edward Sander; a truck driver, who probably took her to a CB Radio function for their first date. They were married on October 27, 1975. She raised her eight children to see the world the way that she saw the world; to see the person, and to see the heart. When George was out of town for work, Virgi would take the kids on adventures to state parks, Kansas City, Elephant Rocks, and on rides in the back of her pickup truck. Occasionally, she would let the kids miss school to help deliver phone books. She was an avid fan of Cardinal Baseball, loved reading, and enjoyed spending time using her creative gifts with any kind of crafting; from tending and arranging flowers to sewing clothes for the children when they were younger. George and Virgi were President and Secretary of their CB radio club, frequently referring to one another as “Dutchess” and “Dutch Master” as well as giving each of the kids their own “Handle”. Virgi cherished time spent with family and friends. When the time came to say goodbye, one would always hear her say, “Love you, be careful, let me know when you get home!”
Left to honor her memory are her sons, George “Tony” Sander and wife Shannon of Rochester, NY; Roger Sander and wife Carol of DeSoto, MO; Russ Sander and wife Krista of DeSoto, MO; Ken Sander of Beaumont, Texas; and John Sander and wife Shirley of Oklahoma City, OK; daughters, Geraldine “Gerry” Mashburn of Evening Shade, AR; Mary Sander and wife Dannette of Jasper, Texas; Lynn Hahn and husband Bob of St. Peters, MO; brother, Gene Doyle of Santa Fe, NM; sisters, Patti Johnson and husband Jim of Battle Ground, WA; and Sharon Schlink of Battle Ground, WA; along with 29 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great grandchildren.
Virgi is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her brother Michael Doyle, and granddaughter Brooke M. Harris.
