Saint Gilbert Charles Stivender, age 60, passed away on November 28, 2019. He was born in Kirbyville, TX on June 16, 1959 to Gilbert Charles Stivender and Norma Jean Hoosier Stivender.

Left to honor his memory is his wife, Lisa Dearmon Stivender; son, David Charles Stivender of Tulsa, OK; daughter, Martha Lea Stivender of Brazil, IN; step-sons, James Simmons and wife, Bree, of DeRidder, LA; step-daughter, J’Niece Harper of DeRidder, LA; sisters, Lena Harris and husband, Elton, of Lufkin, TX, Jeanette Clark and husband, Randy, of Sam Rayburn, TX, Celeste Simmons and husband, Dr. John, of Andover, NJ; uncle, Odis Hoosier and aunt, Dian, of Rose City, TX; grandchildren, Hunter, Landon and Lane Harper, & James and Greyson Simmons; and numerous extended family and friends.

Preceding Gilbert in death are his parents.

Visitation with family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m to 6:30 p.m., Monday, December 2, 2019 at Forest Oaks Funeral Home, 601 W. Gibson St., Jasper, TX 75951. Gilbert’s life honoring funeral service will begin at 6:30 p.m., with Bro. Jamie Witmer and Bro. Dan Booth officiating, also at the funeral home.
