Mr. Gerald Ray Dever of Spurger, Texas, passed away Wedensday, May 23, 2018, in Tyler County, Texas, at the age of 67.
"Jerry" was born April 20, 1951, in Houston, Texas, to parents Walter Russell Dever and Hazel Lee Granger Dever. He had lived in the Spurger, Texas, area since 1989 and found great joy in outdoor activities such as hunting, fishing, and boating.
Self-employed, Jerry had worked most of his life in the HVAC industry.
His survivors include his wife, Whitney DelGrego of Spurger, Texas; sons, Chris Percious of Beaumont, Texas, and Jason Dever of Arkansas; a step-son, Chris Severt of Austin, Texas; his siblings, R.L. Dever and his wife, Brenda, and Judy Cutchall and husband Mike, all of the Houston, Texas, area; a grandson, Jakob Dever; and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death his father, Walter Russell Dever; his mother, Hazel Lee Dever; a brother, Charles Dever; and a niece, April Dever.
Private family arrangements for Mr. Dever are being planned, under the direction of Forest Oaks Funeral Home of Jasper, Texas.
