Evelyn Kay Reeves, 65, of Kirbyville, TX passed away on Friday, February 22, 2019. She was born on March 3, 1953 in Orange, TX to James Basil and Donna Jean Nance.
Evelyn was a 1971 graduate of West Orange High School and went on to work for Southeast Texas Industries for 17 years. It was said that “she was known as a fantastic cook by all she fed”, and Evelyn really enjoyed cooking for family and friends. Dale, her husband of almost 20 years, said she was a giver by nature; caring for and giving to others was what she did, and she did it well. Evelyn loved and cared for others, but her family was always first; she will be remembered for the love she had for her 2 boys and being the best grandmother to her grandchildren. She also enjoyed being outdoors; gardening, working in her flower beds and bird watching. Evelyn loved her cats, and they were one of the many reasons she wanted to spend her final days in the comfort of her own home surrounded by family and friends. She touched so many with her love and care. She will truly be missed by all those that knew her.
Evelyn is preceded in death by her parents, James and Donna Nance.
Evelyn is survived by her loving husband of 19 years, Dale Reeves; two sons, Jimmy Conley, of Tyler, TX, and Bobby Conley, and wife, Carla, of Tyler, TX; three sisters, Elaine White, of Deweyville, TX, Joanie Bandy, and husband, David, of Hemphill, TX, and Jamie Robertson, and husband, Clay, of Magnolia, TX; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Delano and Sally Reeves, of Lumberton, TX; two sisters-in-law, Jan Edge, and husband, Donnie, of Fayetteville, NC, and Carol Lindsey, and husband, Kevin, of Lumberton, TX; a brother-in-law, Lanny Reeves, and wife, Donna, of Vidor, TX; three grandsons, Jimmy Conley, Jordan Conley, and Triston Adkins; a granddaughter, Eva Conley; an aunt, Mary Ruth Hager, of Katy, TX; as well as numerous other family members and friends.
