Carlene White, 74, of Zavalla, TX passed away peacefully at her home on Friday morning, September 14, 2018. Carlene was born on July 10, 1944 to Dock and Edna White in Livingston, TX.

Carlene was a giver, she believed in helping others and her commitment to blessing others was never dampened. She would happily give the shirt off her back to someone in need. Carlene poured her heart into a small café in Zavalla, TX that she owned and operated for many years, her customers loved her caring spirit along with her great food. Although she was known for her sweet demeanor, she had an unmatched competitive nature; from board games to late night Texas Hold-em, Carlene wanted to win but always kept her competitors smiling. She was known as a mother to many for her acts of kindness and her acceptance of people from all walks of life. Carlene attended college to become a nurse but her love for her family and her beloved café kept her busy enough. She was an avid supporter of the Zavalla eagles and attended their sporting events whenever possible. As much as she was a part of the community, the community was a part of her, she was constantly checked on and loved by so many thoughtful individuals.

The family especially recognizes Barbara Bridges, Jeanette Barnes, and Carryl Carrell who were there loving and providing support until she drew her last breath.
