Roger H Michel

Roger Howard Michel, age 68, passed away Friday October 20, 2017 surrounded by his loving wife and  family. He was born to George Semion Michel and Delma Hazel Block on June 28, 1949 in Orange, Texas.

Roger was a member of the Union Local 450 Operators Engineers in Nederland, TX for 24 years. For 10 ½ years, he worked at Walmart in Jasper, TX, where he held various positions. Roger loved being outdoors and having good times with family and friends. His hobbies included fishing, camping, cooking and crocheting. Roger married the love of his life Patricia Jeanice Maxwell Michel on December 2, 1972 in Orange, TX. Their first encounter was in a Sears parking lot. He saw her, asked her out on a date, and that's when he knew he would spend the rest of his life with her. Roger will be missed by his family and all who knew him but his legacy with continue with his children and grandchildren.

Left to honor Roger's memory is his loving wife of over 44 years, Patricia Jeanice Maxwell Michel of Brookeland, TX; son, Heath Michel and wife Earlana of Brookeland, TX; daughter, Heather Michel Mathews of Orange, TX; granddaughter, Jeanice Michel of Brookeland, TX; grandsons, Jordan Davis and Riley Mathews of Orange, TX.

Preceding Roger in death are his parents, George Semion Michel and Delma Hazel Block; brothers, Carlos Michel, Darrel Michel, and Clifton Michel.

Visitation with family and friends will be Monday October 23, 2017 from 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Forest Oaks Funeral Home, 601 W. Gibson, Jasper TX 75951. Roger's life honoring service will be Tuesday 11:00 am at Forest Oaks Funeral Home officiated by Chaplain Tommy Mayhue. Internment at Brookeland Cemetery in Brookeland, TX.

Serving at Pallbearers are Roy Maddox, Ken Stelly, Darrel Stelly, Eddy Stelly, Logan Peltier, and Bradly Burrell.
